Tagging on the inside

I am a huge proponent of social bookmarking. As someone who uses del.icio.us, even at work, I see the potential of the technology to share knowledge and leverage resources.

That is why I am incredibly intrigued by Cogenz, a company that seems to be developing a social bookmarking platform for organizations (what they call enterprise bookmarking).

The only individual listed on the web site is Niall Cook, Director of Netcoms at Hill & Knowlton. I am not sure what Niall's role in the company is, only that it says Cogenz is a private UK company. Regardless, Niall clearly knows his stuff when it comes to tagging and the use of web apps within organizations, so this project merits paying attention to.

In the meantime, keep tagging and encourage your colleagues and clients to do the same.

Thanks for the kind words, Jeffrey.

As the application gets finalised, I'll be able to reveal a lot more about it, but in the mean time hope to contribute some thoughts to the ever-growing conversation about social bookmarking in the enterprise.

As to my role, Cogenz is just a bit of extra-curricular activity for me (I'm lucky to have an employer that is very supportive of entrepreneurial spirit). I developed the concept and am both a director and shareholder in the company.

Niall
